Licensed Automotive Technician, Auto West BMW

We are looking for an enthusiastic licensed technician to join our BMW service team. Reporting to our shop foreman and production service manager, this technician will be passionate about working with our BMW product and working with our service team to continue delivering the personalized service that exemplifies the Auto West Group.

Responsibilities:

• Performing vehicle inspections, repairs, diagnosis, and maintenance work in accordance with all dealer and factory standards.
• Performing work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency.
• Examining vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
• Explaining technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include other associates and customers, as required.
• Communicating with the Parts Department to obtain needed parts.
• Road-testing vehicles as required.
• Keeping up-to-date on all new technical information and factory technical bulletins as released by the manufacturer.
• Achieving the required level of performance as dictated by shop objectives.
• Producing quality work that shows pride of workmanship.
• Completing all required repair work as per proper Company procedures and safety guidelines.
• Assisting in the training and development of apprentice technicians, as required.
• Perform other duties as required by management.
• Other duties as required.

To succeed in this position, you will possess:

• Minimum 5 years experience as a licensed automotive technician.
• Previous European Import technical experience required.
• Previous experience in a high-volume dealership environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
• The desire to learn and excel in a luxury BMW shop environment.
• The ability to work effectively in a team environment while exhibiting strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to multi-task and meet various deadlines with strong attention to detail.
• Strong computer skills, preferably including previous Reynolds & Reynolds experience, required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an engaging, polished, and professional attitude.

Other requirements:

• Valid BC driver's license.
